Proud To Be Irish
A few years past, one of my Christmas gifts was an Ancestry.com DNA Genealogy kit. It sat for almost a year before I decided to share my saliva with the DNA community. Although I was aware I had some Irish blood, I was always told my ancestors were largely from Germany. I was skeptical of this technology but became a believer when my results showed that my brother was in fact my brother! Also linked through the DNA database was my mother's half sister and it also identified a first cousin and several 2nd and 3rd cousins that are known to me! Most surprising, though, was to learn my German ancestors actually had a wealth of Irish blood further back in their lineage. Much to my amazement I am 66% Irish! The information gathered through this technology was also able to tell me many of my ancestors were from Galway, Ireland! This was of great interest to me as I have actually traveled to Galway and loved it there! Now I know why I felt so at home! During our visit to Galway we had the most amazing walking tour by an elderly Irishman! He was like an old friend and we actually paid him to continue the tour after the previously designated end time. Now I wonder if somehow we may have been related? Well, there is one day every year when everyone (and I do mean everyone!) is Irish and now I know I truly am Irish! Of course, that would be March 17th, St. Patrick's Day!
My family and our doggies previously wore Zoey's Attic Personalized Gifts " Wee Bit Irish" tees to the annual parade, but now I need a 66% Irish shirt! No problem though, all of Zoey's items are completely customizable for any wording I might need!
Sadly, because of the COVID-19 pandemic the St. Louis St. Patrick's Day Parade as well as the St. Patrick's Day Dogtown parade have both been cancelled this year. Instead, the clan will gather in our home while observing the facial mask and social distancing guidelines. We'll also have plenty of Irish beer and canned soda for the little lads and lassies with personalized can coolies for our Irish family and friends.
Now, what could be any better than to have a big brother or big sister announce the anticipated arrival of the latest edition to your Irish clan? The " Big Brother To be Little Lad" and "Lucky To Be Me Big Sister To Be" pregnancy announcement tees are a totally fun and awesome way to let O'Grandma and O'Grandpa know the exciting news! The skin tone and hair color can even be customized on any of Zoey's adorable shirt designs!
And how awesome to arrive at the annual St. Patty's Day parade with the siblings dressed in these adorable brother or sister " Shamrock and Pot of Gold" matching personalized Tshirts!
